Takeoff description
Launch site is on the bay side of the levee. Access to the LZ is via approach to the Texas City Dike where one must pay the $5 toll to get onto the Dike whereby one must then take a U-turn to get onto the levee. One can use this as a launching site for further inland travels. Should one follow the shoreline north beyond the floodgates, be aware landing on the other side of the floodgates could result in a 4 mile walkout as the access road is padlocked shut.
Rules and notes
Do not fly over the refinery nor over the water areas of the park. Texas City has this as a protected nesting ground for various migratory species.
