Why this site has thermal potential
| Factor | Value | Interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| Hotspot density (5 km) | 2 | Low |
| Avg thermal probability | 0.89 | Based on thousands of aggregated IGC flights |
| Solar orientation | 0.61 | Slope faces south in northern hemisphere |
| Own flight history | 0.00 | Thermals detected in platform IGC tracks |
Real takeoff terrain
| SRTM elevation | 2630 m AMSL |
| Average slope | 6.8° |
| Slope aspect | 318° (NW) |

Takeoff description
Park at the base of the mountain across from the pond. Hike up about half way up to a barely improved patch cleared by the local pilots. Not for faint of heart ;)
Rules and notes
Respect the locals and don’t leave trash or plastic bottles behind you.
Pilot comments
It’s a nice place to ridge soar in the evening or fly cross country. But a small hike is required and the takeoff is not friendly to novice pilots.
